Nijisanji 2021 Valentine’s Day and Setsubun Voices on sale now!

February is extra special this year as the crew at Nijisanji brings us two different seasonal voice sets! Distract yourself from the physical and spiritual pain of the ongoing pandemic or another Valentine’s Day alone with the wallet pain of having to decide between getting chocolates from Iincho or throwing beans at Tama-chan. Or hey, why not both? Live a little!

2021 Valentine’s Day Voice

Not to be outdone by its own Valentine’s Day special set, Nijisanji brings this year’s key visual to us from beloved mangaka Namori, well-known for such works as Yuru Yuri and Oomuro-ke. The visual features the JK-gumi presenting Valentine’s sweets to us in the mangaka’s signature style (that is, extremely cute). Those who follow Tsukino Mito know it’s a rare occasion when she does a voice (as she puts it, this is the first voice she’s done in “one hundred million light years“), and with a script by Debi-sama we couldn’t be more excited!

These voices will be on sale from the Nijisanji official storefront from now until 11:59 PM JST on Wednesday, February 23rd.

Each liver’s set consists of 6 tracks for on the following themes:

  1. It’s getting close to a certain day
  2. Getting chocolate
  3. “Valentine” or nervously…
  4. “Chocolate” or thinking about someone
  5. “Love” or wanting someone to be happy
  6. “Confession” or what did you think?

The scripts for each track are developed by the livers themselves and may include content that goes beyond the prompt. Tracks will either be free talk or situational. Each set costs 1,000 JPY, and some livers have also done extra content with their own themes (EX voices) which cost an extra 500 JPY.

You can also pick up the complete standard voice set for 80,000 JPY or the key visual set for 3,000 JPY which comes with the standard voices of the three livers featured in the key visual (Tsukino Mito, Higuchi Kaede, and Shizuka Rin).

Both the complete and key visual sets come with wallpapers of each key visual liver solo and as a group for PC and smartphone. Neither set includes any EX voices.

2021 Setsubun Voice

Setsubun is a spring festival that anime viewers probably know best from watching characters being pelted with beans (mamemaki) or eating the occasional massive sushi roll, which gets eaten in the year’s lucky direction. It acts kind of like a second New Years, with rituals to drive off the bad (thus the bean throwing) and call in the good.

This year’s Setsubun visual features Fumi, who was solo in the key visual for January’s monthly voice pack, alongside Tama-chan, who looks happier eating those beans than throwing them. This is also Tama-chan’s first time featured in a key visual! As she puts it:

We dunno what to say about recording on a phone app except that’s exactly what we expected (love you Tama-chan!). This is definitely a special occasion.

Each liver’s set consists of 6 tracks on the following themes:

  1. To protect against misfortune
  2. Let’s call in good fortune
  3. “Setsubun” or the division of the seasons
  4. “Oni” or “Chasing out the oni…?”
  5. “Fortune” or “To a healthy year ahead”
  6. “Direction” or “As for the next season…”

You can purchase the complete Setsubun standard set for 48,000 JPY or the key visual set for 2,000 JPY which comes with voices for the featured livers. Like with the Valentine’s set, either set will get you wallpapers for your phone and PC with Fumi and Tama-chan solo and together, and neither include EX voices.

As a reminder, the Nijisanji official store homepage isn’t in English. If you don’t read Japanese, we recommend using a browser such as Chrome to translate (though it has trouble with names, so we suggest searching with the name kanji on the original Japanese page). You’ll also need to register with a Japanese address (which doesn’t have to be the same as your billing address) even if you’re only buying digital goods – we used the one from a forwarding company we have experience with, Big in Japan, but any address should do.

There’s always a chance they’ll go on sale again at a later point, but who knows when! We recommend getting them while you have the chance! Make sure to check out the Nijisanji store for voices, masks (yes, they have them!) as well as the upcoming Nijisanji third anniversary yearbook!
