Tsukino Mito scares, delights followers with bizarre April Fools stream

UPDATE (4.11.19): Someone’s uploaded a recording of the cursed video to Youtube and NicoNico

If you were one of a few thousand people able to catch Tsukino Mito‘s stream this morning, you were in for quite the April Fools. Promising a surprise guest for her Spring New Year stream, the it aired for just twelve minutes before it was abruptly cut off and the video made private.

If you weren’t lucky enough to be there, well, here’s what you missed:

For 12 minutes, a mysterious non-virtual figure dressed in Tsukino Mito cosplay and wearing, ah, well, that on its face taunted her and the viewers from its (?) bedroom in something that can be described, alternately, as an amateur horror film, April Fools joke, and art piece.

Employing a soundboard with quotes by Tsukino herself, it danced, ate her chicken, and occasionally lunged at the viewers who expressed dismay and amusement at the bizarre spectacle. Tsukino herself remarked in dismay that we were “watching something we shouldn’t be” and suggested cutting off the stream at various points. However, she, like the viewers, was unable to look away, and despite her obvious fear she would occasionally chastise the figure, even sympathizing with it when it fell down towards the end of the stream.

In the end, no-one was quite sure what they had seen, and one Twitter user likened it to a fever dream. Adding to the confusion was the great number of followers who’d missed the stream and, with the video made private, were now trying to figure out what exactly it was that happened.

Maybe we did see something we shouldn’t have.

If you want to stare longingly at the inaccessibly video, you can find it here.
